One of our biggest roadblocks to justice is the zero sum, winner takes all mentality.
We also can’t just pursue Justice, but we must do so from a properly oriented heart.
Maybe one helpful step in getting there, especially as we continue through this season of lent, is to remember that we were playing a zero sum game and definitively failed on every front, until Christ came along and instead of winning the game lost on such a cosmic scale, that the game itself didn’t need to be played anymore. The Son of God humbled himself under a massive injustice, that the just punishment that was our right, our mishpat, was taken away. Now you are free to play by different rules, and to love in wild and reckless ways, because His love for you is secured.
