Jonah is clearly a failed Christ figure. He even spent 3 days in a tomb that should have been the end of his life. Both were asked to go into the middle of those who hated them and preach the love and grace of God. Jonah chose to run, but Christ chose to die, even giving a temporary victory to his enemies, before rising again from the grave–and all for their sake.
In a world starved for God’s Goodness and Grace, may you be bold and selfless in declaring the love of the one who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. By Grace YOU have been saved, may you participate in that grace by bringing it to a hurting world.
